She was the butt of the jokes during her marriage to Tom Cruise but now Katie Holmes seems to have thrown herself to the wolves once more following reports she’s enjoyed a ‘series of dates’ with eternal bachelor George Clooney.
Holmes, who finally tossed in her five-year marriage to the Mission:Impossible star last year, has allegedly grown close to the 52-year-old silver fox after they hit it off at a mutual friend’s dinner party.
They have since enjoyed a number of dinner dates and according to insiders, the chemistry between them is ‘undeniable’.
‘Katie and George have known each other for years,’ said a source. ‘They met through her ex-husband, Tom Cruise, and have always got on.’
Like her former hubby, of whom Holmes revealed she had pictures on her wall as a teenager, the 34-year-old actress has had the hots for swooney Clooney for some time.
‘Katie has had a crush on him for ages,’ the source continued. ‘They’re both single and have met up a couple of times since the dinner party. Katie really has her sights set on him. There is a genuine connection.’

The ‘romance’ is thought to be in its early stages but the mum-of-one was snapped giving Clooney a warm embrace on the red carpet at the premiere of his latest flick, Gravity, in New York last week.
The insider told Grazia magazine: ‘Katie and George are having a lot of fun. They are enjoying their new flirtation. He’s a fun guy with buckets of charisma and Katie loves his company.’
Earlier this year, the former Dawson’s Creek actress was linked to her Mania Days co-star Luke Kirby, but this is said to have fizzled out in recent months.
Meanwhile, Clooney split from former professional wrestler Stacy Keibler, 34, in July.
Neither representatives for Holmes nor Clooney responded to Metro’s request for comment.
