Paul Walker’s Cause Of Death Revealed

On Monday we learned that the autopsies of Paul Walker and his longtime friend Roger Rodas, both killed in a fiery car accident last Saturday, were delayed due to the extreme nature of said accident but today we learn that the coroner’s office has successfully completed the autopsies and have officially issued their cause of death. I have to be frank, the details from the coroner’s report are extremely upsetting to read. It should come as no surprise to learn the grim details of the way the men died but … it may be very upsetting to read nonetheless. As tragic as this cause of death determination is, I hope that at the very least this can provide some closure for the family so that they can begin to heal. Honestly, tho, it’s really difficult to try and spin this report in any positive light

Paul Walker died from the combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries sustained from the Nov. 30 car crash … this according to the L.A. County Coroner’s Office. Translation — Paul did not die from the impact of the crash alone. He burned to death after the Porsche GT crashed into a tree and a pole and exploded into flames. The man who was driving the Porsche GT, Roger Rodas, died from multiple traumatic injuries suffered upon impact. Burning was not listed as a factor in his death. The coroner says toxicology results for both men will be available in 6 to 8 weeks. The Medical Examiner says both deaths have been ruled as an accident. Sources in the coroner’s office tell us … both men were positively ID’d by using dental records. Walker and Rodas were killed Saturday in Santa Clarita, CA when the Porsche GT they were in veered off the road, slammed into a pole and exploded in flames. The cause of that crash is still under investigation. Paul was 40. Rodas was 38.

Ugh. What a punch in the gut, despite the fact that know how they died … it’s just so horrible to read the exact nature of their deaths in such detail. As for closure and moving on, the surviving Walker and Roadas families have already begun funeral arrangements so that they can say their final goodbyes to their loved ones:

Funeral arrangements for Paul Walker are being handled by the “Fast & Furious” star’s on- and off-screen family members. Tyrese Gibson is helping Walker’s parents put together the memorial in the wake of the action star’s sudden death, E! News reports. Gibson, 34, reportedly met with the Walker family on Sunday evening to discuss the next steps in mourning the loss of their son and brother.

As much as I loathe funerals, they can be extremely helpful for some people to being to heal and move forward from such painful loss. I’m certain there will be much interest from many family, friends and fans in a memorial service for Paul Walker. He was such a bright light in the world. Now that he’s gone, some people are finding it difficult to deal with the loss. Hopefully, we can move on from the horrid cause of death and focus on paying tribute and memorializing these souls taken from us far too soon.
